What a day...

To a friend...

I am waiting for accounting to pick up again - ten minute break, not sure how much I can squeeze in. How everything seems to be changing, so unstable are the precous things of this life - friends, family, place of ministry... So long friend, how I wish it did not have to come to this, a mentor through my most difficult days you have been... a teacher in regard to the Word, and is this sword that is handed to me that I find I must now with sever the relationship that we have shared. Your reward is great, I am sure, for the grace and patience you have shown to me. It is with this, a letter that will never be read, that I write to you to say thank you. I am the man that I am because you took the chance that I might be a life worth the investment. Well, accounting is picking up again, the ten minute break has come to an end. I know not the words that I could write to adequately express my heart tonight, but words I find are insufficient to do so, it is all too soon that I must go.

DISCIPLINE

I am going to work on a literary work. I had started once before, but I did not continue with it for long as I was in the midst of learning some of these rather difficult lessons, which in turn led to a ceasing of the work as bouts of melancholy wrapped its slithering tail about my feet and caused me to stumble a little before I had been able to kick it off. I am not altogether looking back on each of these, but there are a few - I think the D, I, S, C, I, P, L, I - that I should be able to write intelligently upon. I have shared this once before with a few - and I may have even recorded it upon my online journal - it is possible, but here is the Acrostic:

Discipline

D – Decision

I – Initiative

S – Self Denial

C – Choosing God First

I – Involving the Word

P – Put Off and Put On

L – Learning From Failures

I – Inviting Change

N – Never Compromising

E – Endure

I conversed with a pastor in India tonight, he will be facing some heavy persecution if he is not out of his house by the first of the month. No other reason than that he is a Christian. He has no where else to go, and he is ministering to a flock of the Lord presently where he is. He has two sons and two daughters and his wife. How difficult this decision will be for him, whatever he decides.

How Deep The Mystery Of Life Seems At Times

How deep the mystery of life seems at times,

As moment by moment I walk this pathway.

Darker than night to me as the road it winds,

I cannot know when the truths will be as day.

I press on as little I see with little light in hand,

Only the here and now I am allowed, no more.

But to trust in my King and my dearest Friend,

To lead me some how through to heaven’s shore.

Why do I fear unknowns, I am never here alone,

My Savior, always thou are with me ever more.

Guide me to my home, then I never will be alone,

I shall trust Him now and always, not as before.

My Sis's Celebration

I have arrived at my folks place in Moulton Iowa at 8:10 PM. Dad is playing Halo, and Mark is watching him narrating each move that is made by the characters, even though one can follow what is going on without the narrator. =0) On the way down there were quite a few deer along the side of the road. A quick call was made to my sister to inform her to be careful - one who lives in the city can quickly lose touch with how quickly those creatures appear out of nowhere to leave their sometimes leave their permanent mark on your vehicle, no matter how old or new. Just a guess, but it seems like when one chooses to follow the speed limit there is less of a chance to hit them. That seems to have been the case for myself over the last few years that I have paid more attention to honoring the Lord with my driving.

Tomorrow is the celebration for my sister's choice to leave for the Army, for which she will go to boot camp for a year.

Long Weekend Ahead

I will be heading south - for those of us who have never left the Midwest, South usually refers to the southern part of the state - as it does in this instance, this weekend to celebrate the acceptance of my sister into boot camp.

Lean Not On Your Own Understanding

Proverbs 3:5,6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

I didn't think it was possible...

What a day! I just got out of another meeting with some work directors, team leads and my department manager regarding some of the processes that are being utilized for our department to submit business improvement suggestions, and by God's grace everything went well. We will be meeting again at the end of the month to discuss the implementation of these ideas, and from there launching this new system center wide for a pilot, and then, hopefully, corporate wide in the future. What a blast to be a part of this, especially considering that my seniority is not very high - I have only been there for 3/4's of a year by this point - and I plan to be with them for much longer.

D.I.S.C.I.P.L.I.P.L.I.N.E.

What a struggle these last few days have been for me, and I haven't been too victorious at all. In fact, it is surprising at how often I have chosen to fail in personal holiness and devotion to the Lord and His Word. Colossians tells us that we must choose to allow the Word of God to dwell within our hearts richly, and by so doing we will be able to teach and admonish one another, and we will be able to worship God through Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs with singing in our hearts. But it all begins with a choice. Oh, that my heart would be inclined to always choose to put to death the flesh. I echo the Apostle Paul in asking, Who shall deliver me from this body of death? And I am thankful, that like he, himself, I too, by the grace of God, can reply, I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Testing Windows LiveWriter

This is to test out Windows LiveWriter. While looking for a program that would allow me to upload my photos on Windows Vista, I came across this - how convenient, that is if it works. This should be interesting.
